How to Use This Calendar
Enter a year and choose a tradition. The calendar covers the church year that begins in that year and runs into the next, so entering 2026 gives you the year beginning with Advent 2026 in the Western tradition, or the Nativity Fast of 2026 in the Orthodox one. Easter and Pascha are calculated, not looked up, so any year works.
The first table lists each season with its start date, end date, and liturgical color; the second lists the principal days. Orthodox fixed feasts use the Revised Julian calendar, which matches the civil date in most jurisdictions — Old Calendar churches keep those feasts thirteen days later.

- How are Easter and Pascha calculated?
- Western Easter uses the Gregorian computus and Orthodox Pascha the Julian one, converted to the civil date. In most years the two fall on different Sundays, which is why the tradition setting changes the whole calendar.
